QLP Data Release Notes 002: Improved Detrending Algorithm

چکیده
Abstract Light curves feature many kinds of variability, including instrumental systematics, intrinsic stellar variability such as pulsations, and flux changes caused by transiting exoplanets or eclipsing binary stars. Detrending is a key pre-planet-search data processing step that aims to remove not due transits. This release note describes improvements the Quick-Look Pipeline's detrending algorithm via inclusion quaternion short-timescale systematics. We describe updates our procedure, intermediate products outputted algorithm, light curve precision.

Detrending Time-Aggregated Data
This paper examines the combined influences of detrending and time aggregation on the measurement of business cycles. The approximate band-pass filter of Baxter and King (1999) performs relatively well in the sense that it retains the basic shape of disaggregate spectra and cospectra when applied to time aggregated data and is straightforward to apply across sampling intervals. Analysis of know...
متن کاملUse of the Improved Frog-Leaping Algorithm in Data Clustering
Clustering is one of the known techniques in the field of data mining where data with similar properties is within the set of categories. K-means algorithm is one the simplest clustering algorithms which have disadvantages sensitive to initial values of the clusters and converging to the local optimum. In recent years, several algorithms are provided based on evolutionary algorithms for cluster...
متن کاملAn improved opposition-based Crow Search Algorithm for Data Clustering
Data clustering is an ideal way of working with a huge amount of data and looking for a structure in the dataset. In other words, clustering is the classification of the same data; the similarity among the data in a cluster is maximum and the similarity among the data in the different clusters is minimal. The innovation of this paper is a clustering method based on the Crow Search Algorithm (CS...
متن کاملDetrending moving average algorithm for multifractals.
The detrending moving average (DMA) algorithm is a widely used technique to quantify the long-term correlations of nonstationary time series and the long-range correlations of fractal surfaces, which contains a parameter θ determining the position of the detrending window. We develop multifractal detrending moving average (MFDMA) algorithms for the analysis of one-dimensional multifractal measu...
متن کاملDetection and detrending in fMRI data analysis.
This article addresses the impact that colored noise, temporal filtering, and temporal detrending have on the fMRI analysis situation. Specifically, it is shown why the detection of event-related designs benefit more from pre-whitening than blocked designs in a colored noise structure. Both theoretical and empirical results are provided. Furthermore, a novel exploratory method for producing dri...
